During a severe weather emergency (Severe Thunderstorm Warning/Tornado Warning), SirenCon Leadership will sound the emergency sirens located in various spots around camp.
NOAA Weather Radios located in various spots around camp will activate.
All SirenCon guests will make their way to two primary storm shelters located at Camp. These are located in the Tesomas Dining Hall basement (primary) and the West Shower House (backup). Please seek shelter any time the sirens sound! There will be no "All Clear" signal given.
If you are lodging onsite, please consider bringing a battery operated NOAA weather radio. The local NWR transmitter is WNG565 located in Rhinelander, WI - NWR channel 1 on a frequency of 162.400mhz.
Any time there is lightning detected in the area, an announcement will be made and/or the lightning alarm will sound and all SirenCon guests must make their way into an indoor area. These include Schooley Lodge, Staff Hill Lounge, West Shower House, or the Dining Hall Basement. An all-clear will be given when the storm passes.
In the event of a wildfire, all SirenCon attendees must pay attention to verbal instructions and evacuate the area as directed.
